Petra Dančević was born in 1982 in Zagreb, graduated at The School for Applied Arts and Design, textile design departement, after which she studied at the Textile – technology university, fashion design departement.
Graduated top of her class in 2004 The same year she started master studies at Kunst Universität in Linz, Austria, departement of Textil/Kunst&Design. Currently she is finishing master studies at Textile – technology university, departement of Costume design. In the year 2010 Recevied the Rector´s award of the University of Zagreb. Since 2008 she has been a member of ULUPUH (Croatian assosiation of applied artist), section for theatre and film artists.
She designed costumes for over thirty drama, opera, ballet and musical theatre productions and assisted some of the best european costume designers in as equally many productions. Occasionally, she also creates for film, video and television productions.
She is skilled in constructing, cutting and sewing costumes, fabric dyeing, patination, decoration, all sorts of specal jewelry and head wear creations, as well as constructing and producing special effect costume demands as oversized or overweight bodies, deformed or animal like masks and bodies.
